Projects

These projects underscore EDERC’s holistic approach to addressing the diverse challenges and opportunities in the electricity sector, driving innovation, and promoting sustainable development in Edo State.

ED-FRA-END Nigeria Limited is a flagship project led by the Edo State Electricity Regulatory Commission (EDERC) in collaboration with key stakeholders in the electricity sector. The project focuses on addressing the challenges faced by the electricity distribution network in Edo State, including high losses, inadequate infrastructure, and poor service delivery. Through strategic partnerships with distribution companies, investors, and technology providers, ED-FRA-END Nigeria Limited aims to revitalize the distribution network, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the overall consumer experience.

Key components of the ED-FRA-END Nigeria Limited project include:

Infrastructure Upgrade: Upgrading existing distribution infrastructure, including substations, transformers, and distribution lines, to enhance capacity, reliability, and safety.
Loss Reduction Measures: Implementing loss reduction strategies such as metering, network optimization, and anti-theft measures to minimize technical and commercial losses in the distribution network.
Service Improvement Initiatives: Introducing customer-centric service improvement initiatives such as outage management systems, billing transparency, and customer engagement programs to enhance satisfaction and trust among consumers.
Technology Integration: Leveraging advanced technologies such as smart meters, automation, and data analytics to modernize the distribution network, improve operational efficiency, and enable proactive maintenance and monitoring.

The ED-FRA-END Nigeria Limited project represents a significant milestone in EDERC’s efforts to transform the electricity sector in Edo State, driving economic growth, improving livelihoods, and fostering sustainable development.

The Extension of EDSG-OSSIOMO IPP 11KV Network project is a strategic initiative aimed at expanding the electricity distribution infrastructure in the Ossiomo Industrial Park and its surrounding areas. The project is a collaborative effort between the Edo State Government, EDERC, and private investors to support industrial growth, attract investment, and create employment opportunities in the region.

Key features of the Extension of EDSG-OSSIOMO IPP 11KV Network project include:

Infrastructure Expansion: Extending the existing 11KV distribution network to cover new industrial and commercial developments within the Ossiomo Industrial Park and neighboring communities.
Capacity Enhancement: Installing additional transformers, switchgear, and distribution lines to accommodate the increased electricity demand from industrial and commercial consumers in the area.
Reliability Improvement: Implementing redundancy measures, voltage regulation systems, and backup solutions to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply for critical industrial processes and operations.
Sustainable Development: Incorporating sustainable energy practices such as renewable energy integration, energy efficiency measures, and environmental management into the project design to promote sustainable development and reduce carbon emissions.

The Extension of EDSG-OSSIOMO IPP 11KV Network project exemplifies EDERC’s commitment to supporting industrialization, fostering economic development, and improving the quality of life for communities in Edo State.
